What to Plant in August

There is no better time than August to really get back into the veggie garden. A great time for getting the garden prepared for the Spring and Summer growing seasons. Don’t forget to renew your garden beds with organic material, compost, mushroom compost and manures to keep your soil healthy and get the best results in early spring and mulch really well after planting.

Theres a long list of veggies and herbs that are ready to grow now in our subtropical climate including:

Planting over the next month will ensure that you can start harvesting sooner rather than later !

All of your favourite herbs can be planted now as well includdng Coriander, Basil, Thyme, Mint, Parsley, Rocket, Dill, Oregano, Chives, etc. August is a particularly good time to grow Coriander in our region.
